Roof in ToplaKuća houses
The wooden parts of the roof’s load-bearing structure are made of planed solid coniferous wood (spruce/fir) of class C24 in accordance with HRN EN 14081. The moisture content of the used wood is controlled and does not exceed 15% during construction.

Footnotes
- OSB-3 (Oriented Strand Board) is an oriented strand board, which is a multilayer building material made of wood chips and resins. The outer layers are oriented along the length of the board and the inner layers are oriented across. This structure gives the board high strength and stability.
OSB-3 is designed for high humidity conditions, making it versatile for indoor and outdoor construction applications. - Glued timber KVH C24. C24 strength class – has good mechanical properties and is suitable for load-bearing structures. Advantages: High strength and resistance to deformation. Low moisture content, which reduces the risk of cracking and shrinkage. KVH C24 laminated timber is often used to construct frame houses, slabs, rafters and other structures where high strength and reliability are required.
- U-Value (heat transfer coefficient) shows how well a wall, floor or roof insulates. The lower the U-value, the better the insulation. In this case, 0.13 W/m²K means that the structure retains heat well, losing only 0.13 watts per square meter for a temperature difference of 1 degree Kelvin (or Celsius) between the interior and exterior sides.
- Rw (sound insulation index) indicates how effectively the structure blocks sound waves. A value of ≥ 47 dB means that the structure reduces the sound level by at least 47 decibels. This is a sufficiently high sound insulation value, which is suitable for residential buildings, for example.
- REI is a classification of fire resistance.
R (resistance) is the load-bearing capacity of a structure.
E (integrity) is integrity, the absence of through cracks and holes.
I (insulation) is insulation, the ability to prevent heat from spreading through a structure.
In this case, 60 minutes means that the structure retains its function under fire conditions for one hour. - λ (coefficient of thermal conductivity) shows how well a material conducts heat. The lower the λ coefficient, the better the material insulates.
